Just three weeks after undergoing a spinal surgery, she began previews for the Broadway revival of “Nine.” When the pain failed to subside, Benanti says she went back to the doctor, who blamed her for her continued symptoms. “He told me I was fixed and my pain was a mental health issue,” she said. “I believed him.”

After experiencing “in intense pain every single day for seven years,” Benanti says she saw another surgeon, who inf...

I've been weaning myself away from High Fructose Corn Syrup based foods. On occasion I'll eat Oreos, Cookies and cream ice cream and what not because there aren't good alternatives out there yet.

Cereal has been a source of High Fructose Corn Syrup or sugar and reduced my consumption of it massively over the past years. I've bought cereal around 2-3 times this year so far. Last year, around 1 or 2 times I picked one out.

Is it a crazy idea to have a reduced sugar and corn syrup cereal without being crazy expe...

"Research has continually shown that spanking leads to negative child outcomes, such as aggression and distraction, regardless of the context in which children are disciplined, including country, ra...

Another episode of Jennette's Empty Inside

Fake positivity stands out to me. I think it is easy for me to see it generally since I err on the side of pessimism. Don't think you can deal with emotions rationally if you are feeling one way but expressing another to hide what you feel. I don't believe in 24/7 positivity sometimes it is better to scream your agony out. I suppose if you hang with people who only want positivity in their lives then how can you have the space to handle your "negativity." I'd agree ...

  • Ghosting

If you are disinterested in something, express it. Why it is hard to do that? When does it become hard to say "No I don't want to" or "I don't think this is working out" vs ghosting? Ghosting is negative as a punch and burns bridges.

Well, on the bright side people learn who their "friends" are and who their friends actually are.

Friend is a term loosely used. Acquaintances vs casual friends vs your close friends.

Everyone is a passerby in life. Close friends come and go in much smaller quantities though.

  • "The One"

Why does "The One" matter? Oh yeah, humans and animals have a duty to procreate. The spiel of the simple "meet someone, fall in love, get married, buy a house and have kids" creates that hole from childhood. "The One" would fill that hole. This implies L.T.R.

Spent time over the years thinking about that hole and trying patch it up with duct tape as I realize I don't need to do any of those things to be happy. "The One" isn't that one you'd find and marry (or common law) the first time unless you are ...

Well, some quotes from various sources where researchers pointed out asymptomatic people are not getting off scot-free.

“It's a very big portion of people, and although they are silent without symptoms, internally, they are taking hits in there inside their body so they don't even know it,” says Eric Topol, MD, the founder and director of the Scripps Translational Research Institute in La Jolla, CA.
