The Next Transcontinental War is Already Here
The question is will it be called World War 3. Wars are not labeled until they have long past the mark of it actually started.
So World War 1 and World War 2, all coincided with certain countries arming themselves up to the teeth, maintaining alliances and telling everyone don't worry it's only for defense. Take a look around at countries constantly increasing their military budgets far beyond what would be considered peacetime investment and shortages both natural and artificial.
There's a gunpowder (pellets...

Long Covid brain fog may be due to damaged blood vessels in the brain (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=39762776) for reference.
Comments here resonate with me given the weird sh*t that happened starting March 2023. Feeling of fluid in the head, near fainting for no apparent reason, heartbeat > 100 just standing, persistent even when laying down, can't walk going to fall, head heavy, brain fog, etc. Some comments even pointing out how complete and totally shit doctors are trying to convince people that i...

This Blog will be Server Side Rendered Soon
Version 3 is in Lit, version 2 was Svelte, but those choices were because I liked NodeJS and wanted to see how close I could stay to vanilla Javascript, but I'm abandoning NodeJS, in general, due to poor choices on their part. I don't believe in investing more into sink just because it works and is functional. It degrades over time and becomes harder to upgrade. That's what NodeJS is, a degrading sink. It's bloated AF and getting more bloated.
Moving forward I have been moving to Rust. Leptos is a great fram...

Defold's Druid UI Extension Library Is Only a Good Step
When I first saw Druid I was like oh cool, a way to do GUIs in Defold since Defold's GUI stuff looks unappealing. Turns out, It's not a UI Component library as it claims but an extension of what's already there. It just makes bundles off some of the unappealing stuff into a process so you can focus on higher level stuff.
When you click on a box, you might think oh that box should get the event, but no you have to "gui.pick_node" blah blah to check every box. Mmm, you've already lost a ton of upstart game dev...

Project Phantasy #1: A Multiplayer Game. Server Written with Rust
Ah Project Phantasy, so original. I'm far enough along that I might as well write about this stuff in a series like Atlas Fury (Project Atlas). I'm excited about the work like I was with Atlas Fury.
Project Phantasy is an online multiplayer game for mobile devices The objective is to land as many hits on the opposing team with your avatars as possible. It's a real time strategy game, on the lines of Clash Royale which is still fun to play. There is no general theme to the game as it touches on many themes.

Atlas Fury 1.5.0 Update
Released on Google Play, but not Apple yet even though it got reviewed and approved. App Store has a weird bug where it did not want to move itself from "in review" to "ready for distribution" even though the history shows approved build. I dunno, I restarted the review process, but the fact that even happened and could get in that state is... dumb.
I've been playing Xtreme mode a bunch, so added invulnerability when you get hit to Atlas Fury. Sure I was able to survive Xtreme mode and get all Xtreme achieve...

Atlas Fury Will Be Released On PC/Mac
It had to happen right? Atlas Fury will be released on the Epic Games Online Store for some exclusive time then maybe Steam. Will advertise a bit as well as iterate a bit on the game. I say it's a bit, but it will change game play mechanics so that it is less simple. I don't think a bare port of the game to non-mobile will do well at all.
It's more than likely those changes will make it to mobile as well. There's a list of things I want to change. One of the things I planned to change some of the mini boss s...

Rapier 2D Physics Engine Needs More Blog Posts
Without Bevy Game Engine especially. Yeah, I'm using rust to build a game. 💀💀💀
Most people would not write Rust especially for a multiplayer game server! I'm taking on the challenge to do it twice, so let's see if I can release at least one real time 2D multiplayer game this year on mobile.
After about a week of using Rust to make a game, I'm at the point where I can run the server with spawn-able game loops, communication between game objects in that loop, game object create/destroy/etc. and physics, collisi...

Abandoning NodeJS for the Most Part For Rust
I spent today just trying to use nunjucks for serving some templated html. Turns out nunjucks among other templating libraries are fucking broken because of this rtarded split between cjs and mjs.
Even though I have a custom toolchain to deal with this sht, typescript made some changes that broke the server portion. The mjs files can't import nunjucks. This isn't the first time sht has broken either hence why the toolchain exists.
I was like ok since ths is broken time to explore. So I explored leptos, but th...

Godot has Bad Support for iOS
I recently released Atlas Fury, an arcade style space shooter for iPhone (App Store) and Android (Google Play) so I am jotting down post experiences.
My experience with Godot in general has been pleasant. With iOS? Haha, no. Compared to Android, yeah definitely no. Remind ourselves that Godot is open source and you are allowed to be critical of it's current state.
Plugins
1. You need to have the whole Godot project in order to compile one or so plugins. Compared to Android, this is horrible.
2. Plugins repo is...
