Maybe the best recruiters are the ones who have been Software Engineers before. Maybe it is a bias on my part. The blog posts around their experiences are gold.

Companies need to do better at giving feedback or they really should not expect candidates to give any feedback when asked.

It's funny that the only reason I went with ZenniOptical not because it was cheap, but because Eyeconic had screwed up my order. When they screwed up my order I ranted about it and figured someone in the chain screwed up. First Horror-Story in that post was that the "Candidate rejected because of 'wrong' framework." Lol, terrible interviewer. What is "wrong" about using different tools to do your work. Was it enforced that the interviewee use a specific framework? What made it wrong?

Good management is open minded and knows how to make sure to keep a situation defused. Adequate explanations do not require justification.

Bad management is closed minded and shows it by making assumptions before knowing what is going on blowing up the situation. Justifying bullshit is terrible management and sows distrust in its own ranks and community.

Escalated to a lawsuit because they don't know how to use their site and resolve without lawyers. Hell they don't even listen to their community past the vitrol. Looks like Stripe may do this practice. What makes anyone think that a candidate should waste their time giving feedback when companies don't give feedback to candidates when they reject them. Absolutely, laughable. 😂 If I have got a call like that I'd say "Would you guys have told me what went wrong if it was the other way around?" and then "bye". Sucks for companies that want to improve or whatever but don't give the time of day to candidates...
