    Google Play Link

    App Store Link

    Official Website

Google reviewed it quickly and approved. Apple on the other hand twiddled their thumbs then came back with a rejection based on the idea of needing financial license or whatever. Ridiculous. No matter how many times you mention and put into your terms of service that this a game and not reality nor does it even claim to 100% match reality, they came back with a bull sht excuse to reject

Not once but twice now. This is why the walls for app stores need to be broke...

  • Dev Log, Hi Stakes Markets Game: WWW Released. Marching to App Store Release

    |
    Updated at

Official Hi Stakes Markets Game Website

The official website of Hi Stakes Markets Game is now public. Now we march to App Store release. Should've been done sooner, but bug fixing is long and arduous. That's not to say there aren't bugs, just not show stopping bugs. App looks great.

March is the month of release not withstanding some weird long App Store review.

My tasks are: Submit to Apple and Google by Friday. Get press release ready. Send to different forums.

I will be submitting a press release, f...

  • Gemini 3.1 Pro is Out

    |
    Updated at

Hmm, I'm still feeling it out, but it appears to plan more and ask if it is good, which is a huge improvement over Gemini 3 and behavior more consistent with Gemini 2.5 Pro. Gemini 3 Pro was a significant regression, put plain and simply. It was a bad release. I'm hoping Gemini 3.1 Pro just does not generally rush to code, that was just the worst part of Gemini 3.

    So far so good.

  • AI Does Not Change The Core Calculus

    |
    Updated at

Like the 3d Printers, the Internet, Television, the factories, the copy writer, the Printing Press before it, it does not change the core calculus of value. Worthless is still worthless, but just faster and amplified.

AI is an amplifier. An amplifier for many sectors. You still need ideas, money and community. Without these, you are going nowhere.

No idea?, AI will bring you towards the average. Worthless if anyone can do it.

No money? AI needs money. Material, rent, operational costs are still there.

    No commun...

  • These AI Driven Scam Calls are Annoying as F**k

    |
    Updated at

I don't even pick up the phone and they leave these AI scam call for a personal loan that i supposedly applied for or got rejected for or whatever. The funny thing is they don't even try to impersonate a real bank or loan provider nor do know your name. Why would anyone trust these idiots when their voice messages are very impersonal and general. I have no clue. Why are they burning through so much money doing this anyway given all the numbers they use, my god. How many of you f**king idiots are falling for...

  • I Bought into Claude. They are Just Moving Faster and Getting Cheaper than Google or OpenAI.

    |
    Updated at

I bought their $200 a year plan, their Pro plan. Anthropic's Claude has come a long way. 3.5 was super good, but Gemini 2.5 Pro March 2025 dwarfed that model. Unmistakably, Gemini was the best hands on, but their regression with recent Gemini models caused me to re-evaluate Claude. Claude's up to 4.5 well, 4.6 Opus (Maybe I'll try it) and Sonnet is really really good.

I've blogged before about my frustration with Gemini on how it just jumps to coding while in discussion, it's terrible and very bad regressi...

  • Dev Log, Hi Stakes Markets Game: Systems Admin, Bug Smashing and Tweaks

    |
    Updated at

Another week another update. I've been finding bugs, adding more logging and tweaking Hi Stakes Markets.

I validated shop purchases for both items and subscriptions work. I have a custom built ledger that reads from another custom built event logging service for essentially webhooks and any other external service. This week was the week where validation happened there and bam, it works. It didn't work the first time because of major but not fatal errors, but now it works. It's amazing because it is a shared ...

  • RZMQ with IO-Uring is Extremely Fast and It's the Only ZeroMQ Implementation with IO-URing.

    |
    Updated at

rzmq is now on 0.5.13 available on crates.io. This release adds an option to disable automatic delimiter for dealer/router sockets for interoperability purposes, it was a request.

0.5.12 migrated the io-uring implementation to use a "framer" pattern to encapsulate common operations and share code between the regular socket actor and io-uring. It's faster and more efficient.

rzmq's throughput is quite amazing really. I tested, with io-uring and TCP CORK enabled, 200k/responses per second on my Framework Laptop...

  • Dev Log, Hi Stakes Markets Game: Feature Complete

    |
    Updated at

Today marks the day Hi Stakes Markets Game is feature complete.

It was a wild ride, the first version of this bad boy was in 2022 which I decided to go into Wolfram Alpha and Mathematica to devise asset pricing equations for stocks then commodities. I kept those in notes and collected a lot of information about financial markets. Launched a internal alpha accessible anywhere in 2023 then withered away, I opened the game every once in a while to trade a bit, but it was pretty boring.

  • Gemini 3 Pro Preview is Total Trash

    |
    Updated at

Gemini 2.5 Pro is better overall. 2.5 Pro March 2025 remains king. Gemini 3 is a step forward in some ways reasoning wise and a giant step back in following instructions. Just fighting too much with this garbage of a LLM. Rushes to code. Hell they even started lowering rate limits. Annoying, move to Claude or ChatGPT.

Gemini doesn't have the same "oooh lala" anymore. Total shitshow by Google, but it was inevitable. This is exactly the kind of shit that causes people to ask less questions in order to find an...
