  • Why Some People Will Always Be Ahead Of You

    |
    Updated at

Learning to use tools is the best predictor for success and productivity, I would like to think. The article referenced here shows a teacher who is open minded and adapts to better teach her students how to get ahead of the pack.

It's natural to see something that changes the game forever and see it as world destroying. When your world is predicated on things staying the same forever, yes it is world destroying. The ...

  • How To Get Into Trouble Because You Assumed The Worst

    |
    Updated at

Imagine being subject to a lawsuit. Do you think "oh, I'm not going", "I'm not talking about it", "nothing's going to happen", "ignore the process server"? Then you've been watching to much TV and Movies and assume the worst. If you get stressed out by the notion of a lawsuit, you are a weak fool and you are subject to fines and a jail cell potentially even criminal charges. "Friends" who encourage this behavior are not friends and are not looking out for your best interests.

It will never be a good idea to ...

  • We Used to Laugh at Comedians and Listen To Politicians....

"We used to laugh at comedians and listen to politicians, now we listen to the comedians and laugh at the politicians."

It's a grab from a YouTube comment. It's true, the process of US politics is a joke while the results of it are very serious. America is very unserious about how it wants to solve its problems resulting in this garbage. A lot of the stupidity comes from the republicans too, yet moronic sheep vote them in then complain about how bad things get over the 4 years. The redux is coming. Idiots di...

  • Assumptions Can Only Get You Into Trouble

Imagine trying to apply a specific situation to your situation, but finding out later that that situation is covered in the law and goes adversely against your position in the entirety. Imagine the having laws that already cover the specific situation, one created out of your own a**. Now imagine assuming you can get out of the situation, but also finding that by doing so you can be held civilly and criminally liable for what you thought was correct. All because you thought, especially knowing that your tho...

  • Risk Management and The Lack Of

    |
    Updated at

Risk is something often thought of as chance of bad thing happening and people associate high risk, high reward and the inverse as well as the contrapositive. People also don't manage risk well, they tend to have beliefs that wildly destroys their own sense of risk calculation. If you ask me the NPCs, the "go with the flow" types tend to be the low risk low reward or high risk low rewards types, I might even add negative reward. If you are dumb enough to put your full trust in other people who haven't been ...

  • Information Asymmetry

    |
    Updated at

The one thing people don't tend to like is the case where someone knows more information about you than you know they know. It puts you in a potential vulnerable place where they can use information against you in the future should it become necessary.

The problem with feeling vulnerable about this case is that the government is always going to have higher level of asymmetry with you. Companies constantly collect and store data, a government just needs to compel a company to hand over that information. You d...

  • Imagine Believing gRump is Against the "Deep State"

So you're a voter, a conspiracy theorist really and you complain about "surveillance" infrastructure or whatever triggers your mind to think you are being watched. Because you watch gRump rallies and see people don't like him along with all the other crap thrown around you convince yourself to think he will destroy this surveillance state. He never specifically talks about dismantling surveillance, but instead vaguely complains about deep state, FBI, CIA, whatever, but somehow to you, you believe he is talk...

Searches for "Change my vote" on Google spiked after the Election.

Searches for "What is a tariff" also spiked after the Election.

    Same with "Project 2025".

I don't like dealing with people who are like this. This pea brain flea brain type who vote but have no clue of the issues they are voting for or against. I just really don't like these kind of people, they don't have any consideration....

  • Lootboxes Need to be Regulated As a Casino Game

    |
    Updated at

Preferably by government. FTC, etc. Yeah, maybe self regulation so idiotic politics doesn't infect this area.

Loot boxes are one of the most enticing but also worst elements in games. The fact that you open a 'Mystery Box' by inputting money is literally casino. Loot boxes can be easily rigged to give you trash most of the time and 1 good thing every once in a while. Some people will spend $100s on these things just so they can get the dopamine hit of getting something good.

I used to think it was an interest...

  • America is Dead 1776 - 2024

What just occurred in a nutshell:

the first convicted felon to become president, the first adjudicated rapist, the first insurrectionist, the first president in our country's history to refuse to admit he lost and transfer power without attempting to overturn an election. He is many things ... and in him, our country is reflected. It's kind of refreshing to know that this is who we are. We can throw out the platitudes and the high-minded nonsense.

It doesn't matter anymore for decades what happens after...
