MS > Save value into memory
M+ > Adds the currently displayed number on your calculator to the number in memory
M- > Subtracts the currently displayed ... -
Ugly Syntax in PHP – Executing Conditional Statements in a String
I’ve been hanging out on Stack Overflow helping people recently, which is great because now I see some value in helping others as I see how other people tend to fall into problems and how other people’s answers differ from the way I would code or answer. There are its pros and cons. This is just one of the cons… read on.
So this guy asks “is there a way to execute a variable conditional statement within a string.” I looked at what he wanted which was:“
<?php echo "Hello {isset($name) ? $name : 'World'}!n"; ?>

Using PHP’s Microtime to measure page generation time
There are two ways of using the microtime function to measure page generation time.
The first way consists of using microtime() without any arguments leaving its only argument to default to false. The first and only argument is a bool (defaulted to false) determining whether the function should return a float. What does this float represent? Isn’t it the actual time using a float, so why is it defaulted to false? I suppose that people might want the actual seconds and the microseconds separate, which is why ... -
Lenovo X201 Tablet – Pen Pressure Sensitivity Driver + Issue [UPDATE]
Grab your Wacom Pen-enabled Tablet PC Driver here.
Update 2: It appears Wacom has updated their site, so you'll have to choose your OS and Tablet PC from now on. Also I'm linking to the EU site because it is the one that has it. Europe or America shouldn't have any bearing on driver functionality.
I was looking at Lenovo’s forum where (new?) owners of this tablet have an issue where there is no pen pressure and figured since I’ve had this driver since day one of getting my tablet that I ‘d share it. The on... -
Cross Domain Authentication
What is cross domain authentication?
I believe it is a scenario where one website completely separated from another (meaning it cannot legally access cookies of another domain) and provides its own services, wants to authenticate a user and delegates all login authentication services to another web site. An example of this is Facebook Connect, where users on an application login to facebook through facebook connect and is authenticated through that system.
Why am I looking at this?
I want to create Excerion Ga...

Internet Explorer 9 Preview Inline CSS Issue
I wonder what Internet Explorer 9 is to Microsoft. What is the mission for this browser in this day and age because it seems to me that Microsoft is only updating Internet Explorer because it is something they started and won’t drop. I know that this is an early version of IE 9 mainly to showcase HTML 5, but some standards being supported correctly by Internet Explorer would be nice.
Attention web developers! Have you tried to include inline CSS through AJAX only to find that it doesn’t work on ANY usable ve... -
Web Development – CSS Cross Browser Issues
Before you start reading this post, if you are a web developer, I highly recommend you read this: Smashing Magazine’s Principles of CSS.
If you are into web development, then you will have already seen the inconsistencies across every browser, essentially some things work and some things don’t. This brings up the topic of standards. Hah, I remember some guy saying he would eat his hat if browsers ever followed standards. I think any web developer should be inclined to do so.
My biggest question: Why isn’t IE ... -
The Law of Momentum
The Law of Momentum, you wonder.. You probably thought this was a physics lesson.
To sum it up, when applied to matter of doing work dictates the amount of work done successfully generates as much pleasure and willingness to do more work. This means if you do little work before tackling the big one that you've been procrastinating from then you might as well keep procrastinating. Whereas a succession of work accomplished throughout your day will give you the initial push to get past the initial hurdle of the... -
Want to be an iPhone programmer?
There are many people who look to become an iPhone programmer because of stories about becoming rich quick. Woahhh, stop right there... How are you going to program something worthwhile when you've never programmed before or finished anything possibly worthwhile. Beginning to program for the iPhone doesn't mean "Let's start on a application, just need to learn the basics," it means having an understanding of the platform and dealing with problems that will come up. Learning a language and using a language a...
