Rapier 2D Physics Engine Needs More Blog Posts
Without Bevy Game Engine especially. Yeah, I'm using rust to build a game. 💀💀💀
Most people would not write Rust especially for a multiplayer game server! I'm taking on the challenge to do it twice, so let's see if I can release at least one real time 2D multiplayer game this year on mobile.
After about a week of using Rust to make a game, I'm at the point where I can run the server with spawn-able game loops, communication between game objects in that loop, game object create/destroy/etc. and physics, collisi...

Abandoning NodeJS for the Most Part For Rust
I spent today just trying to use nunjucks for serving some templated html. Turns out nunjucks among other templating libraries are fucking broken because of this rtarded split between cjs and mjs.
Even though I have a custom toolchain to deal with this sht, typescript made some changes that broke the server portion. The mjs files can't import nunjucks. This isn't the first time sht has broken either hence why the toolchain exists.
I was like ok since ths is broken time to explore. So I explored leptos, but th...

Godot has Bad Support for iOS
I recently released Atlas Fury, an arcade style space shooter for iPhone (App Store) and Android (Google Play) so I am jotting down post experiences.
My experience with Godot in general has been pleasant. With iOS? Haha, no. Compared to Android, yeah definitely no. Remind ourselves that Godot is open source and you are allowed to be critical of it's current state.
Plugins
1. You need to have the whole Godot project in order to compile one or so plugins. Compared to Android, this is horrible.
2. Plugins repo is...

Advertising is Harder Than it Seems
You can just go boom: idea -> development -> publish, but how will people know your product exists and what it does? Advertising!
I recently released Atlas Fury, an arcade style space shooter for iPhone (App Store) and Android (Google Play) so I had a need to spread awareness through multiple channels. Hey, we hit 1k+ downloads on the Play Store after around 3-4 days.
Paid advertising is commonly thought about with influencer partnering, display networks, Youtube ads or App Store marketing. Then there's the ...

Next Game Project is a Cooperative Multiplayer Game
With Atlas Fury being released to the Google Play Store while Apple drags it's knees doing whatever (rejecting my app for really stupid sh*t where the functionality is already there there's nothing f-ing hidden) must be some quota they have to fill to make it seem like they are doing something. Will likely just increase my marketing spend for Android in that case.
Veering off of my 3 game plan for this year to do a simple multiplayer game on iOS and Android. Maybe Steam, Epic and Mac app store and etc some d...

Atlas Fury iOS and Android Release in February 2024
I am pulling up the Android release date to the same time as IOS. I originally said I would release the Android version in March, but seeing as how I structured my code, it was relatively easy to integrate Android leaderboards and billing. I love it.
WOOOOOOO! I also love my promo video!
Release is almost here then the promo blitz!

Home Printers should be Simple and Cheap
Are any home consumers really looking for any of the smart features they put on printers these days? I'm not sure why when you search for a printer that they are all of these stupid boring looking printers with smart this and that. I don't have a printer, but if I was to buy one I'd say go with a BROTHER printer.
HP is dumb. Their CEO? Dumb. Printer as a subscription service? Huh? They are still trying to milk a dried cow. Forcing garbage smart printers onto the market so people will be forced to buy their i...

Random Thought: Car Hanging over the Edge of a Cliff
If a RWD/AWD car hangs over the edge of a cliff with the front wheels dangling and the rear wheels slightly elevated, could it spin the wheels fast enough to blow air enough to edge backwards enough for the rear wheels to touch the ground?
Probably not, but a fun physics thought. Probably thought about it because of a past GTA game or something.

Atlas Fury iOS Release in February 2024
I am wrapping up development on this momentous product. Promotional videos and other assets are now being pursued so that next month we are a GO.
There will be 10 survival levels, 2 endless levels, 19 ships each with their own front and rear weapon, 6 special weapons that any ship can get in the level. There are a variety of enemies and most of them will chase you around. Some will just leave if you don't kill them 💀. The powerups are a variety. SURGE is the most fun and best power up you can get. One poweru...

Hi Stakes Game Alpha
Hi Stakes Game is in Alpha now. The servers were deployed yesterday. I mostly just wanted to see the app on my phone working without being at home. I can be anywhere and continue to trade on the game.
Atlas Fury demonstrated a good lesson in deploying early as possible to keep the inertia going. I hadn't worked on Hi Stakes game in a while. I decided this week that i would deploy it along with upgrading operating systems on all of my servers including the one used to run this site. The fact the alpha product...
