Hi Stakes Markets Game Official Site

I've been thinking about how to add real estate markets to Hi Stakes Markets Game (HSMG). As many people understand it, it is about owning homes, building structures and land. What most people don't understand is all the mechanics that go into it and don't care for most aspects, they just want to own, maintain and get income. "Be an owner, not a renter."

Marketplace: Focuses on the simplest aspects of the Real Estate Market that stays true to what HSMG is all about. Player...

    Official Website

Google reviewed it quickly and approved. Apple on the other hand twiddled their thumbs then came back with a rejection based on the idea of needing financial license or whatever. Ridiculous. No matter how many times you mention and put into your terms of service that this a game and not reality nor does it even claim to 100% match reality, they came back with a bull sht excuse to reject

Not once but twice now. This is why the walls for app stores need to be broke...

  • Dev Log, Hi Stakes Markets Game: WWW Released. Marching to App Store Release

Official Hi Stakes Markets Game Website

The official website of Hi Stakes Markets Game is now public. Now we march to App Store release. Should've been done sooner, but bug fixing is long and arduous. That's not to say there aren't bugs, just not show stopping bugs. App looks great.

March is the month of release not withstanding some weird long App Store review.

My tasks are: Submit to Apple and Google by Friday. Get press release ready. Send to different forums.

I will be submitting a press release, f...

Another week another update. I've been finding bugs, adding more logging and tweaking Hi Stakes Markets.

I validated shop purchases for both items and subscriptions work. I have a custom built ledger that reads from another custom built event logging service for essentially webhooks and any other external service. This week was the week where validation happened there and bam, it works. It didn't work the first time because of major but not fatal errors, but now it works. It's amazing because it is a shared ...

  • Dev Log, Hi Stakes Markets Game: Feature Complete

    Updated at

Today marks the day Hi Stakes Markets Game is feature complete.

It was a wild ride, the first version of this bad boy was in 2022 which I decided to go into Wolfram Alpha and Mathematica to devise asset pricing equations for stocks then commodities. I kept those in notes and collected a lot of information about financial markets. Launched a internal alpha accessible anywhere in 2023 then withered away, I opened the game every once in a while to trade a bit, but it was pretty boring.

    2025 came and Gemini 2.5 ...

    Updated at

I discuss in a previous post that Hi Stakes Market Game is under a feature freeze and I am ironing out bugs. One bug relates to asset valuations. Another terrible bug was related to my in memory db library that works like CQEngine. Those bugs were a catastrophic cascading probe, one compounded on another.

My In-Memory DB Library's bug was in the query planner specifically in the cascading probe where filters after two to be ignored and incomplete implementation of the necessary residual filtering. There were...

  • Dev Log, Hi Stakes Markets Game: Welcome to Fixed Income Markets, Prediction Markets and Feature Freeze

Hi Stakes Markets Game is now feature frozen. I should have feature froze sooner, but I needed to add support for the Bond Market. A financial simulator without the bond market is hallow. Bonds are debt instruments, it's how governments and corporations raise money to remain active. It's how investors can seek a stable cash flow rather than rely on fluctuations of the Equities and Derivatives markets.

Binary Options (Prediction Market) are more fleshed out and implemented now.  It's take all or nothing, so t...

  • Dev Log, Hi Stakes Markets Game: Contracts, Derivatives and a Living Market.

    Updated at

I've been super focused on Hi Stakes and wanted to give another update on the world of Hi Stakes Game. The core simulation I talked about last time, the one that ticks on its own with economies that boom and bust, has continued to evolve. It's becoming more dynamic, more unpredictable and now it's ready for a new layer of strategy. This update is about two major features that bring players deeper into that living world: Contracts and Derivatives.

These aren't just new buttons to press; they're systems design...

  • Dev Log: Building Hi Stakes Market Game "Gains are made by taking losses"

It’s been a while since I’ve written a proper update, but this feels like the right time.
Hi Stakes Market Game is finally coming together and I’m aiming to have a beta available this November for both iPhone and Android.

At its core, it’s a game about markets but not just the charts-and-numbers kind. It’s about how economies move, how risk turns into opportunity, and how every boom has a bust hiding in it. The world inside Hi Stakes is alive: it grows, crashes, rebuilds, and surprises me even while I’m de...

  • Hi Stakes Game Alpha

Hi Stakes Game is in Alpha now. The servers were deployed yesterday. I mostly just wanted to see the app on my phone working without being at home. I can be anywhere and continue to trade on the game.

Atlas Fury demonstrated a good lesson in deploying early as possible to keep the inertia going. I hadn't worked on Hi Stakes game in a while. I decided this week that i would deploy it along with upgrading operating systems on all of my servers including the one used to run this site. The fact the alpha product...
